Update August 25:

Construction on the play area is well underway, and the contractor is a week ahead of schedule. Here is the progress to date:
The demolition is complete
The concrete curbs for the new play area have been poured
The grading work is nearly complete
Rerouting of an electrical line is occurring this week
The new picnic seating area will be open and ready for use by this coming weekend, August 27-28

The contractor will be off site the week of August 29 as we wait for the arrival of the play equipment, which is scheduled for delivery the first week of September.

The North Lincoln Park play area renovation project is now underway. Construction fencing around the play area is up and Seattle Parks will post the proposed play equipment up on the construction fencing this week. The equipment is also shown on the website http://www.seattle.gov/parks/projects/lincoln/north_pa/

The project was awarded to LW Sundstrum Inc, who has worked on many Seattle Parks and Recreation play areas as well as other play areas around the region. The work is scheduled to be complete by the end of October. The wading pool and Shelter 5 will remain open during construction.
