West Seattle Chuch of the Nazarene wants to build three townhouses plus a small park
Tue, 09/06/2016
The West Seattle Church of the Nazarene is moving ahead with plans that began about three years ago to construct a series of two car townhouses plus leave some land undeveloped as just open public space just adjacent to its property at 5911 42nd Ave SW.
It means the area needs to be rezoned specifically for this purpose. In the latest Land Use Bulletin from Seattle's Department of Planning and Development they note a "Council Land Use Action to rezone 18,681 sq. ft. of land from Single Family 5000 (SF5000) to LowRise1 (LR1). Project includes three townhouse structures (six units total) and a new park. Parking for 12 vehicles to be provided within attached garages. Existing structure to remain. Environmental Review includes future unit lot subdivision."
Getting that rezoning will require approval from the Seattle City Council.
The park area would have some playground equipment as indicated in plans on file with the city.
It is project number 3016200
The project is still subject to a design review.
