Now taking shape on Alki Ave SW in the former location for Alki Huddle is a well known name coming to West Seattle. The Hawks Nest in SODO is a very popular spot for Seahawks fans since the day it opened in 2007.
Manager for both locations, Alex Piano spoke to the West Seattle Herald and said they are aiming at a late April launch
"We are hoping to open up for draft day if all goes well! (April 27th) that would be a soft/grand open! We are still finishing up our seating so I'm not 100% sure of capicity as of now... once we get our booth order in and installed we will be able to see what works with the rest of the seating."
Hawk Nest West is a sports bar after all and will have 9 to 10 screens (4 of the screens will be combined to make a large modulation wall).
"We are still polishing up the menu," Alex explained, "but we will have a good selection of hand pressed burgers, hearty salads, fresh seafood options and of course some gluten free options.
They will employ 6 or 7 servers and 4 bartenders, with some working both locations so you might see some familiar faces.
The buildout is changing the space quite a bit, "We've built the bar, it's made of a recycled old bowling alley (similar to the sodo location bar top) we also gave the bathrooms a facelift and gave the floor a new look with stained concrete. We took out the stage and leveled everything out. We will have some new booth seating in the bar area as well as in the restaurant! We are hoping to put a fireplace or pit outside on the porch but that likely won't be ready when we open since we have some permits to get etc."
The team is excited to open up on Alki with a fresh staff (with some familiar faces from the sodo location)
The owner of both locations is Joe Piano.
