Tips and techniques for low light photography, followed by shooting the full moon in the garden from about 8:15 to 10:45 pm (okay to leave earlier)
Saturday, September 9 – 6:45 to 10:45 pm; photographing in the garden
Wednesday, September 13 – 6:45 to 9:45; classroom review of your best photos
LOCATION:
Seattle Chinese Garden, north entrance and parking at South Seattle College
6000 16th Avenue SW / Chan Educational Center is north of the parking lot
OVERVIEW:
Open to photographers (limit of 16) with any type of digital camera and level of experience from novice to advanced. Learn or perfect techniques for painting with light, capturing full moon “star bursts,” and zooming for creative images. Instructor Ray Pfortner is an educator and professional photographer whose work focuses on nature, landscapes, environmental issues, and gardens. He has a special interest in coaching new talent. This rare opportunity to photograph inside the courtyard at night also is a lot of fun. The forecast is for clear skies — perfect for the full moon.
