Three arrested for shooting in White Center
Around 11 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 26, a man called 911 and told police he’d been in a cafe in the 9800 block of 16th Avenue S.W., when a woman began yelling at two men for taking her purse. The caller confronted the two men, and one of them pointed a revolver at him, before they both fled in a waiting Chevy Monte Carlo. A third man drove the car away from the scene. The caller began chasing them in his own vehicle, and a passenger in the Monte Carlo leaned out of his window and fired multiple rounds around the 9000 block of Delridge Way S.W. Officers were able to catch up to the two vehicles near the 168B exit of I-5 and took the three suspects into custody. The police saw cash and a purse on the floorboards of the car. They booked the 19-year-old gunman, the 21-year-old driver and the 19-year-old passenger into King County Jail for assault and drive-by shooting. The King County Sheriff’s office will investigate the initial robbery of the woman because it occurred outside of the city of Seattle.
