West Seattle showed why it is the No. 2-ranked team in the state for girls basketball Wednesday, hammering Holy Names by a 66-26 score.
The Wildcats ran their overall record to 3-0 and their Metro League mark to 2-0 with the victory.
Chief Sealth, meanwhile, scored a 53-42 victory over Nathan Hale that night as Ballard took a 48-36 loss to Blanchet.
Mount Rainier was a 40-34 winner over Kent-Meridian and Kennedy Catholic was edged out by Kentwood, 51-48.
On Tuesday, Foster downed Evergreen by a 59-8 score as Highline lost to Eatonville, 54-44, and Tyee lost to Orting, 45-37. Seattle Lutheran of West Seattle won, 42-23, over Pope John Paul II.
Monday’s scores had Seattle Christian topping Foster, 77-40, with Mount Rainier losing to Auburn, 46-34, and Tyee losing to Liberty, 70-28.
In Wednesday boys scores, Mount Rainier edged Kent-Meridian, 42-38, and Kennedy Catholic fell to Kentwood 70-45.
West Seattle played on Tuesday and took its first loss of the year by a narrow 57-55 margin to perennial power O’Dea.
The Wildcats fell to 2-1 overall and to 1-1 in the Metro League.
Chief Sealth, on the other hand, was a 77-67 winner over Nathan Hale on Tuesday to improve its overall record to 3-1 and its Metro League mark to 1-1.
Other Tuesday scores had Blanchet beating Ballard, 41-38, and Tyee topping Orting, 70-55, as Highline dealt Eatonville a decisive 70-38 defeat.
Foster won, 98-59, over Evergreen that night and Seattle Lutheran lost to Pope John Paul II, 61-54.
Host Rainier Beach dealt Chief Sealth an 88-67 loss Saturday.
