A shooting possibly following an argument at West Seattle Stadium sent a man in his 40's to the hospital around 7:30 pm where he later died.
Police said the victim was rushed to Haborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. He was shot multiple times with at least one bullet striking him in the leg. Our news partner Q13 Fox News is reporting that the man was shot in the head as well, according to a woman who identified herself as his aunt. A man on the scene who said he was a Marshall at the track meet held at the stadium today told Seattle Police that he was witness to an altercation between the man in his 40's and a younger man but left before the shooting. The suspect left in a vehicle according to police.
Police took the witness aside to ask other questions.
Detectives are still looking into what happened and access to the golf course and stadium are blocked,
Police have fanned out in the area in an apparent perimeter. No word on the shooting suspect, and police have only a limited description.
Anyone who may have been in the area and possibly heard or saw something and has not yet spoken with investigators is urged to contact detectives and provide their information by calling the tip line at (206) 233-5000.
