TACOMA--West Seattle High School’s Chloe Cunliffe cleared 13 feet, 8.50 inches in the girls pole vault at the state track and field meet held Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School, setting a new Class 3A meet record.
Cunliffe also captured second place in the long jump with a 17-09.25 effort along with her title in the pole vault.
Elijah Jackson of Chief Sealth, meanwhile, emerged as a double state champion.
Jackson reached 23-01.00 in winning the boys Class 3A long jump and won the triple jump at 46-04.75.
Jackson took third in the high jump as well, clearing 6-04.00.
Chad Cohen of Ballard and Cass Elliott of West Seattle won solo championships.
Cohen soared over the pole vault set at 15-00.00 to win the Class 3A boys championship and Elliott won the boys 300-meter hurdles in a time of 37.68 seconds.
Symmone Davis of West Seattle took second in the 3A girls 100 hurdles with a 14.88 effort and Quinn Wiley of Chief Sealth took second in the 3A girls 300 hurdles in 44.58.
Michael Johnson of Seattle Christian captured third in the Class 1A boys 100-meter dash in 11.75 and sixth in the 200 in 23.37.
Joseph Kirk-Woodbury was third for West Seattle in the 3A boys discus at 152-01 and 12th in the shot put at 47-00.75.
Ballard snagged third place in both the 3A girls 400 and 800-meter relays with respective times of 48.85 and 1:44.12 and Cassidy Huff of Mount Rainier came in third in the girls 100-meter wheelchair event for 4A/3A/2A in 38.29.
Dylan Wile of Seattle Christian finished fourth in the 1A boys 800-meter run in 2:04.88.
Makenna Cowan of Highline placed sixth in the 2A girls 1,600 with a time of 5:09.07 and seventh in the 3,200 in 11:15.13.
Ballard’s Chloe Marcio snagged sixth in the 3A girls 100 in 12.51 and West Seattle was sixth in the 3A boys 1,600 relay in 3:26.42.
Moeshana Maiava of Foster secured seventh in the 2A girls shot put at 36-09.50 and Mattison Cook of Mount Rainier took eighth in the 4A girls discus at 118-09.
Bowen McConville was ninth in the 4A boys shot put finals for Kennedy Catholic at 48-07.25 and Ballard’s Lianne Kistler tied for ninth in the 3A girls pole vault at 10-00.00.
Evergreen of White Center’s Kareem Eastman came in 10th in the 2A boys javelin at 160-08 and Ballard’s Nell Baker was 11th in the 3A girls 3,200 in 11:17.02 with teammate Veronica Redpath 15th in 11:32.19.
Zach Carver of Seattle Lutheran came in 13th in the 2B boys long jump at 18-09.75 and Foster’s Lisia Leiato was 15th in the 3A girls discus at 94-00.25 with teammate Maiava 16th at 91-03.75.
Sadique Calloway came in 15th in the 3A boys triple jump at 39-04.50 for Chief Sealth and Tyee’s Karen Rios took 15th in the 2A girls shot put at 31-08.00.
The 1B/2B/1A events were held at Eastern Washington University in Cheney.
