A 42 unit mixed used Apartment and retail space building is the subject of an Early Design Review meeting set for Sept. 20 at the West Seattle Senior Center at 6:30pm.It would have 5500 feet of commercial space and 16 parking spaces.
Currently the building is occupied by a car repair shop. That building would be demolished.
The owner of the project is Ed Linardic. The full plan set is available here.
It is project number 3032296 and can be found online here.
Here are the massing schemes thus far.
It is Very Nice that the City of Seattle wants to issue More and More parking tickets. The fact that you have 42 apartments with retail and Only 16 parking spots in site is a Very Good example.
We need to pass a State law, via the Initiative route to Require a certain amount of parking spots per commercial development. Yes, people that dwell in apartments as well as persons doing business with tenants, whether a regular business or a tenant will need a place to park.
The Goons that we Continue to elect in office tend to have a reality Problem: that we Owe government Goons All Of Our Income, and then some.
We need to make it Clear that public transit Will Not be nor will it be the Be All, End All of our transportation needs. If this is Too much of a problem, then they can be voted out. As many readers that are reading this comment realize, Metro Transit Can Not and Will Not do anything right. Incompetence is very much encouraged by the transit unions and the county HR mis managers
So, with that said, there needs to be Better minimum parking spots required for Any and All properties, regardless of use (e.g. business / Commercial or Residential.)
