West Seattle held on for a 41-40 victory over Meadowdale with its girls basketball season on the line Friday.

The Wildcats had led, 20-10, at halftime and 11-1 at the end of the first quarter.

West Seattle rides the state Class 3A regional victory at Garfield High School into the state final 12 at the Tacoma Dome.

The Wildcats face a 2 p.m. Wednesday loser-out game to open.

As for the West Seattle boys, their state regional has been changed to 8 p.m. Saturday from two hours earlier.

The No. 8-ranked Wildcats face the No. 1-ranked Eastside Catholic Crusaders in the Issaquah High School gymnasium.

The winner advances to a state final eight game at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Tacoma Dome.

The loser falls into a 9 p.m. Wednesday loser-out game in the Tacoma Dome.
