Four finalists vying for SeaTac City Manager job

 Four finalists have been selected for the new City Manager Position at the City of SeaTac.

Residents and business owners will have an opportunity to meet and ask questions of the final four candidates at a public

Open House on Wednesday, August 8, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the SeaTac Community Center, located at 13735 24th

Ave. S., SeaTac, WA 98168.

The new City Manager will be replacing current City Manager Joseph Scorcio who is retiring at the end of the year after

spending nearly six years with the City of SeaTac including time as the Community and Economic Development Director.

The search for a new City Manager began in October of 2017. Since the process began, SeaTac conducted a national

search, which led to an initial 43 candidates. In mid-July, the City Council interviewed the top candidates and narrowed the

list to a final four.

UPDATE: Tanker truck overturns spilling gasoline under Spokane Street Bridge; Roads re-open

Update 8:30am

The Delridge off ramp from the West Seattle Bridge when going westbound is now open. Chelan Ave SW at W Marginal Way SW remains closed. The tanker truck is now upright and the road can be cleaned.

A gasoline tanker truck overturned under the West Seattle Bridge shortly after 10pm on Wednedsay night and began leaking its load, forcing the closure of an intersection, the Seattle Fire Department said. The incident occured at Chelan Avenue SW and West Marginal Way SW.

Firefighters applied foam to the spill and the contractor arrived later to offload the remaining fuel on board the truck

The West Seattle Bridge off ramp to Delridge Way SW and SW Spokane street is closed as is the road at Chelan Ave SW at W. Marginal Way SW

Providence Mt. St. Vincent Summer concert series kicks off with The Abbagraphs ABBA tribute band Aug. 3

Providence Mount St. Vincent is hosting four free summer concerts on Friday nights in August 2018. Guests can purchase food and beverages before the concerts and also enjoy free popcorn and snow cones. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets since there will only be a limited number of chairs available. Dinner will be available from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Live music will play from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Concerts will be held on the patio of Providence Mount St. Vincent, 4831 35th Ave., SW, Seattle. 

The lineup includes:
Aug. 3: The Abbagraphs - playing the pop hits of ABBA and the disco era.
Aug. 10: The Illusion of Elvis by Danny Vernon - The King is back by popular demand!

Puget Ridge Playground preferred design is shared by Seattle Parks

 Seattle Parks has shared the preferred design for the Puget Ridge Playground  at 6029 21st Ave SW, has been developed based on the public input, accessible standards, other park design standards, and budget limitations. 

The intent of the preferred design is to maintain the bones of the existing park, include new play structures that are accessible to all abilities – focused on young kids, and improve seating and gathering.
