Roxanne C. (Meduna) Roten Oct 5, 1945 - July 28, 2018
Roxanne, formerly of West Seattle, most recently Ellensburg, WA, was born at Providence Hospital in Seattle, WA on October 5, 1945 and passed away on July 28 in Yakima at the age of 72.
She was active in the West Seattle communities, including recreational activities such as Hi-Yu, West Seattle and Roxbury bowling leagues, and the West Seattle Soccer Club, both as a player and booster club member. Roxanne was also a long-time coach of the girls’ soccer team, the “Crickets,” sponsored by WS Bowl.
Erick Anders TerLouw January 5, 1963 – August 25, 2018
Erick Anders TerLouw died August 25, 2018 at his family home in Buckley, WA with family at his side. Erick was the second son of three, born January 5, 1963 in Eugene, OR to parents Joseph and Ruth (Anderson) TerLouw. Erick moved to Buckley, WA in 1969 with his family. He worked in construction all his life. Erick lived several years in Leadville, CO building homes on the popular ski resorts. Erick moved to the Burien/Des Moines area where he has lived for the last 20 years. The joy of his life was outdoor activities including hiking, fishing, clamming, crabbing and oystering. Erick

For Brent Amacher, a balanced life is tipping toward music

When was the last time you asked your insurance agent how his band was doing?
For Brent Amacher it’s a question he gets more and more often. Amacher has been selling State Farm Insurance in the Admiral District for more than a decade but it’s his other gig, as the leader of Brent Amaker and the Rodeo that is getting all the attention.
The band, a sort of cinematically themed country western band began in 2005 and thanks to Amacher’s film sensibilties and the work of the band’s representation with Terrorbird Media their music is showing up in films and television shows.
School ribbon cuttings at E.C. Hughes and Loyal Heights will mark new beginnings
Roxhill Elementary School students and staff will move into the newly modernized E.C. Hughes School building this September. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at the E.C. Hughes School building, located at 7740 34th Avenue S.W.
The E.C. Hughes modernization project was included in the Buildings, Technology and Academics IV (BTA IV) Capital Levy and approved by Seattle voters in 2016
Loyal Heights Elementary School students and staff will move into their modernized and expanded building this September. The ribbon cutting ceremony will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4 at Loyal Heights Elementary School, located at 7735 25th Ave. NW
The Loyal Heights modernization and expansion project was included in the Building Excellence IV (BEX IV) Capital Levy and approved by Seattle voters in 2013.
Both projects were completed on time and within budget.
