SPS, SEA reach Memorandum of Agreement

MOA addresses impact of school closures

 Seattle Public Schools Superintendent Denise Juneau today announced that SPS and the Seattle Education Association have collaboratively developed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to address work issues that have emerged as a result of school closures in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.

“This joint MOA makes clear our staff expectations, our support for continuous student learning, and our commitment to staff and their economic stability during this uncertain time,” said SPS Superintendent Denise Juneau.

The MOA takes effect immediately. It will sunset upon the return of normal school district operations or on August 31, 2020, whichever occurs first.

Green Lake, Lincoln, Golden Gardens, Seward Park, Magnuson Park, Gas Works, Alki Beach, and Discovery will be immediately closed to parking

All Seattle beaches will now also be closed to gathers, as well as Rattlesnake Lake Recreation Area and Rattlesnake Ledge Trail and will also be closed

Locol and The Westy join the Take-Out crowd as they get back in operation

Two West Seattle favorites, Locol Barley and Vine and Westy Sports & Spirits neighbors in the 7900 block of 35th SW both closed when the order came down for all restaurants and bars to shutter dine in operations. But these two businesses are run by people made of the right stuff and after a short time, chose to come up with some unique menu items for take out.
