The iconic Tesla Roadster is the mission in life for an iconic man and his family

Carl Medlock and Sons work to preserve, rebuild and improve on the original

Tucked away in a relatively small garage on Delridge Way, Medlock and Sons does not look like a famous place. But for the former and current owners of the now iconic original Tesla Roadster EV, there is no other shop like it in the world.

Tesla only produced around 2450 of the cars worldwide (1500 in the U.S) and since they sold originally for between $80,000 to $120,000 they were a collector's item right away.

Metro breaks ground on Rapid Ride H Line that will serve riders from Burien to Seattle

King County Metro in association with the City of Burien, and the City of Seattle broke ground on construction for the H Line Rapid Ride bus service from the Burien Transit Center to downtown Seattle. The line will replace the Route 120 line and officials promise nearly continuous service every 10 minutes in both directions with an additional 51 new stops being added along the route. 

An estimated $87 million in improvements are in the works to better serve riders on the route through South Lake Union to Delridge, West Seattle, White Center and Burien as crews upgrade bus stations and intersections and make roadway improvements.

Construction on the new line starts in June.

Governor Inslee signs environmental justice bill at Duwamish Long House

Governor Jay Inslee came to the Duwamish Long House on West Marginal Way on Monday to highlight the work being done regarding reducing environmental and health disparities by signing Senate Bill No. 5141.

The HEAL act as it is called is the result of nearly seven years of effort as described by the bill's sponsor Senator Teresa Saldana who spoke at the event. Numerous organizations worked together to promote what is widely seen as a comprehensive set of tools for environmental justice.

Front and Centered, the largest coaltion of communities of color-led groups in the pacfic northwest at the intersection of equity, environmental and climate justice described the bill this way:

Man with a gun arrested in harassment incident in White Center

Around 10 minutes before 8pm Seattle Police responded to the report of a "man with a gun" call in the 9400 block of Delridge Way SW.

A tactical response was put in place prior to arrival at the scene.

According to the police report, "The suspect was advised over the phone to exit the apartment unarmed and meet with responding officers.

He was taken into custody without incident and booked into King County Jail for felony harassment.

A loaded handgun was recovered from the scene. The SW Captain Kevin Grossman was notified of the incident.

Schmitz Park Boulevard restoration begins

Seattle Parks and Recreation is happy to announce that the first of five Olmsted restoration sites, Schmitz Park Boulevard, is moving into construction. The Seattle Conservation Corps will work with Seattle Parks and Recreation’s carpentry, concrete, and metal shops to create a permanent pathway up the hill at SW Stevens St. and 52nd to 58th Ave. SW near the park entrance closest to the Alki Community Center. This project will include a stairway and habitat restoration. The project construction will begin in mid-May and be completed by the end of the summer.
