Kevin Dean Kerstetter, aka “Papa,” age 63, passed away peacefully at his home in Wenatchee, WA with loved ones on the evening of Friday, June 24, 2022, at 08:56 PM after a courageous 3.5-year battle with Metastatic Prostate Cancer.

On 06-27-2022 at 10:38 am, two suspects walked into the Chase Bank located at the 2900 BLK of SW Barton St (Westwood Village). The suspects handed the bank employee a note that requested money and threatened to shoot up the bank if their demands weren’t met.
The bank employee gave the suspects cash, and the suspects left the bank and entered a vehicle that was near Roxhill Park. The vehicle left Northbound on 29th Ave SW. Guardian 1 was requested, but it wasn’t available. K9 initially was enroute, but when it was determined that the suspects left in a vehicle they were cancelled. SPD Robbery/FBI task force responded to the scene.
Evidence was recovered and witnesses were interviewed. The suspects in this robbery are possibly the same suspects from a Robbery that occurred later at a Chase Bank in Des Moines.

Jeffery Scott Richter was born on November 29, 1966 in Seattle, WA to Marvin and Linda Richter. He died at the age of 55 on Saturday, June 4, 2022 in Boise, Idaho. Jeff attended school at Highland Park Elementary and Denny Jr. High. His first three years of high school were spent at Seattle Christian. His senior year of high school was spent at Seattle Lutheran. As a youth, he attended the now Community of Christ Church and enjoyed youth and family camps. Jeff spent 30 years as a Metro Transit employee driving thousands of miles delivering commuters to their destinations.

On 06-27-2022 at 3:55am, a victim was inside the 7-11 located at the 3200 BLK of SW Avalon WY.
While the victim was standing in line an unknown female suspect came inside and cut her while she was standing in line.
A verbal altercation ensued and the suspect becoming irate at the victim.
The suspect punched the victim in the face. The victim and suspect got in a verbal altercation outside the 7-11, and the suspect punched and kicked the victim.
During the assault the victim had her purse stolen. The suspect left in a silver dodge vehicle, which was filling up with gas at the pumps.
Officers checked the area for the suspect vehicle, but it wasn’t located.

It has been reported that, every weekend for weeks, a suspect has been terrorizing patrons and employees of various Admiral/Alaska Junction establishments and venues.
Officers have become familiar with the subject and staff have formed a loose community advising one another whenever the suspect or his vehicle come into the area.
Generally, suspect takes off prior to police arrival. On 06-25-2022 at 1:49am, officers received a similar call for service.
Officers determined that the suspect had a rape warrant with a $1,000,000 bail, formulated a plan and took suspect into custody without incident.
One year after a three-day heat wave that killed over 30 people in King County – the most fatalities from a climate-related disaster in the region’s history – experts from public health, climate preparedness, and emergency management are partnering with communities to develop King County’s first-ever Extreme Heat Mitigation Strategy.
King County has applied for a FEMA grant, which has historically not considered extreme heat in hazard mitigation grant programming. The strategy will include both immediate and long-range actions to prepare a region that was primarily designed and built for flood hazards.
