Share your input on the Alki Point Healthy Street: Open House on Wednesday, Nov. 9

Information from Seattle Department of Transportation

Earlier this month we shared that the Alki Point Healthy Street design is moving forward as a Neighborhood Greenway and permanent Healthy Street

While people can still drive on the street, using the street as a cut-through is discouraged so that it stays calmer and safer for all users – especially people biking, walking, or using a foot scooter.

Lumberyard Bar in White Center set to reopen Nov 8.; It was set ablaze by an arsonist 15 months ago

"It was almost 15 months ago to the day," said  Michale Adams-Farrar one of the co-owners of the Lumberyard Bar in White Center," It was the 4th of July we burned."

He was talking about the night that an arsonist set the bar on fire, one of a series of fires that decimated the downtown core of the community in 2021.

But now the Lumberyard bar and owners Nathan L Adams and Michale Adams-Farrar are back and the bar is bigger and better than ever in a new location at 9630 16th SW.

Though at first they are restricted to a limited capacity. They can only operate with a maximum of 70 guests until they get a good sprinkler system approved by the Fire Marshall. That approval will also likely trigger the permit approval for the other side of the bar to open, something they expect before the end of the year.
