SDOT has announced the release of a “Top-to-Bottom” review of the Vision Zero program.
If you have driven down Harbor Ave SW in the last two days you will have noticed that the RV's that have been parked there were gone and the street and sidewalk areas were clean. WestsideSeattle inquired with the City of Seattle and Linda Robson, Homelessness Response Communications Manager replied.
The Jet City Labs experiential retail space and Revelry Room bar are set to open March 23 at 4pm. WestsideSeattle first covered the unique business in December.
They are located in the former Lika Love location in at 4547 California Ave SW.
Jet City Labs has been located across the street and upstairs but is now moved to the new location.
Partners Derek Moon and Tony Larson say the business is unique in that the 35 to 40 person space out front is "highly adaptable", meaning everything from yoga classes, to art showings, poetry slams, office parties, pop ups and more are possible.
"If you have an idea for a pop up we will absolutely work with you to make it happen." Larson said.
There will be a couple of soft opens the previous week.

Related to the project to rebuild Alki School, on Feb. 9 and 10, 2023, I was party to an appeal hearing of the project’s “Mitigated Determination of Non-Significance and Final SEPA Checklist,” held before Hearing Examiner pro tem Gary McLean, in the School District HQ building.
There were five appellants originally but two were disqualified when the School District's attorneys objected because their appeals were submitted 45 minutes after the deadline. The three remaining appellants brought testimony from fourteen witnesses.
The School District requested the following departures from code, among others:
When Lee Kindell opened Moto Pizza in a house in West Seattle in 2021, with the bridge closed and the pandemic still happening people thought he was crazy.
But his unique take on "Detroit Style" pizza ended up being so sought after he literally has a months long waiting list. That success led him to open another shop in Edmonds, which after a brief glitch is now running well according to Kindell.
Next up for Moto is the company's new Belltown location at 3131 Western Avenue opening at the end of March.

Alki School needs work.
The students and teachers at Alki Elementary need a school that keeps them comfortable, ready to learn, engaged, and safe from earthquake, fire, flood, intruders, and traffic. They deserve spaces for learning and play that are well lit, have good acoustics for listening and speaking, are made from healthy materials, and are connected for 21st century learning technology. We all need public schools to be sustainable, durable, energy-efficient, and easy to maintain. Schools are centers of our communities. Schools should be good stewards of the land they occupy. Schools should respect their neighbors needs and values. We agree that Alki School needs improvement in all of these areas.
What the 309 students and the neighbors and District taxpayers do not need is a school that is rebuilt for an imaginary 540 students.
Update 6:00pm Thursday
Information from Seattle Police Blotter
Seattle Police responded to a 911 call made by a man fearful his business would be targeted when he saw three males wearing ski masks outside his store in the Roxhill neighborhood Wednesday evening.
Officers arrived just after 09:00 p.m. in the 8800 block of 35th Avenue Southwest and spoke with the 25-year-old employee who informed officers he locked the doors to his business. Then the car with the suspicious masked men left, heading northbound on 35th Avenue Southwest.
SPD officers later located the vehicle, which had previously been stolen at gunpoint during a carjacking and attempted to detain it but the suspect drove away. After receiving authorization to pursue, police followed the suspect vehicle briefly until it collided with a fence, which caused it to fall down an embankment, and strike an exterior wall of an apartment building.
information from the Puyallup Tribe
The Puyallup Tribe’s Emerald Queen Riverboat has a new owner and will be repurposed.
Anchored on the Blair Waterway, the riverboat served the Tribe as a floating casino from 1997 to 2004. Today the Tribe operates two Emerald Queen Casinos, one in Fife and one in Tacoma that opened in 2020.
In recent years it was a familiar sight to customers at the Tribe’s annual Firecracker Alley fireworks market.
“The riverboat served our Tribe well and laid the foundation for us to open and operate the two premier casinos in the Northwest,” the Puyallup Tribal Council said.
Spectral Crane and Marine will be taking over ownership of the boat, which began its journey to Seattle by tugboat on Thursday. Moving the riverboat will open up more of the Tribe’s port property for economic development.
