Food-on-stove fire injures resident in the Alki Beach neighborhood

Last night at 10:34 p.m., the Seattle Fire Department’s Fire Alarm Center received 911 calls reporting smoke coming from an apartment building at the 2200 block of Alki Ave. SW. Ladder 11 was the first unit on scene and found smoke coming from a basement unit. As firefighters made their way to the fire room, they found the resident, a 27-year-old male, in the hallway. He was able to safely evacuate out of the building where paramedics provided medical care. He was in stable condition, but declined transportation to a hospital.

RX Fest will rock for three days downtown April 14 -16

Alternative and punk rock festival RX Fest is set to rock downtown Seattle April 14 through 16 featuring 24 bands.

The shows will take place in the former Bartell Drugs on 3rd & Union, now known as Nii Modo.

Acts like Seattle's Elvis Batchild, Everett's Dead Streets, and Wenatchee's Cockaphonix are just three set to perform.

Recently, several bars that provided a platform for smaller local artists have closed permanently due to either land purchases and plans to bulldoze, or they just didn't pull through the pandemic.

65,000 Fentanyl pills, pounds of heroin, cocaine and meth recovered

King County Sheriff's detectives concluded a two-month long investigation into the distribution of narcotics in Burien, White Center and other south King County communities with a series of coordinated search warrants.  The investigation was conducted with partner agencies including the Burien Police Department.

The warrants resulted in the seizure of:

• 35,000 blue M-30 fentanyl pills
• 30,000 rainbow M-30 fentanyl pills
• 10.54 pounds of cocaine
• 17.61 pounds of heroin
• 1.13 pounds of methamphetamine
• $34,402 cash 
• 3 vehicles 

According to police three individuals responsible for running the distribution network are now in jail.

Patrick Robinson photographs on display during West Seattle Artwalk April 13

Westside Seattle's own Patrick Robinson will be displaying more than 20 of his photographs during the West Seattle Artwalk on April 13 from 5 to 8pm.

The show will feature the spectacular scenery West Seattle is known for and the prints will adorn the walls of West Seattle Realty at 2715 California Ave SW.

"I love West Seattle and we are all so remarkably fortunate to live in a place that has so much natural beauty. I try to capture it and share it because that's what makes me happy,
Robinson said.

Muse Fest will feature female musicians during April 13 West Seattle Artwalk

Admission is free to all eleven venues featuring art, music and food

The West Seattle Junction Association, The Art of Music and local musician Sue Quigley have scheduled the second Muse Fest: The Power of Women’s Voice music festival —featuring female musicians exclusively again — to take place during the April 13 Second Thursday Art Walk .

A total of 11 free admission Muse Fest performances are scheduled to concurrently take place from 6 - 7:45 pm that night (with one 15-minute break at the midpoint) at businesses in the Admiral District, Alaska Junction, and Morgan Junction.

The Muse Fest performers will provide a variety of music to choose from and enjoy; genres represented include:

The joint services for Riley and Khalea were held this past Friday and private services were held for precious Khalea on Saturday.
It is in the time of heartache and pain when support is needed most, the Thoeuk family would like to express their deepest Gratitude to everyone that has given kind words, thoughts, condolences, wishes, support, shared their stories of their own grief and heartbreak from a similar heart breaking experiences, those who contributed to and shared the go fund me, those that called 911 to try and stop the driver, those that stopped at the scene to help, first responders, 911 dispatcher, etc..
