After losing their first playoff game, the Ballard baseball team faced Skyline in a loser-out round last night.
With a strong 9 to 0 victory, the Beavers move on to the next loser-out round against Newport
The Beavers started off strong, taking a 1-0 lead from the start, but the third inning was definitive for the Beavers. Kangas kicked off the third inning with a double, and was soon batted in. Two more runs quickly followed and then Weber crushes the ball over the right field fence for a 2-run home run.
And after some good defensive play, the Beavers finished the third inning with a 6-0 lead.
With Paul Crane on the mount backed by a strong defensive team, Skyline was unable to score once.
The Beavers added a few more runs while keeping the defensive tight for a final score of 9 to 0.
Airey was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI; Weber 2-4 with on homerun and 3 RBI.
The Beavers face Newport tonight in another loser-out game. The game will take place at 7 p.m. at Woodinville High School.

Golf:
The Ballard girls golf team will be at the Willows Run Golf Course all day today and tomorrow as they compete in the Kingco Championship against Eastlake, Bothell, Garfield, Inglemoor, Issaquah, Newport, Redmond, Roosevelt, Skyline, and Woodinville.
Softball:
After a high scoring victory against Garfield with a score of 22 to 9, the Lady Beavers had a rough game on Monday, losing 7-0 to Inglemoor.
Ballard gave away four runs in the first innings but then kept the game scoreless until the sixth when Inglemoor scored two more runs. Ballard was unable to get any hits of Inglemoor pitcher Alyson Harrington. They lost 7 to 0.
The Lady Beavers play again today at 4 p.m.against Woodinville at the Lower Woodland fields.
This will be the second to last game of the regular season.
