Psychic View: The Lighter Side

Since my previous column dealt with the (thankfully rare) ‘darker’ side of my work, I’ve received requests to describe more ‘uplifting’ episodes. My only challenge; having so many amazing incidents to choose from.
One immediately comes to mind due to its dramatic resolution. While having a reading with ‘Millie’ in my Ballard home, I suddenly ‘received’ tidings concerning her mother (whom I’d never met). The ‘message’ was urgent, declaring she must see a doctor immediately! When Millie wanted to know why, the response provided to me was explicit: ‘car-di-o-my-o-pa-thy!’ I then was ‘shown’ an image of her Mom’s lungs filling with fluid; she must be given diuretics at once! Obviously, I’m no doctor, but I knew, without doubt, this situation was an emergency, (while another part of me wondered how I could possibly know this). Quite determined, I prevailed upon ‘Millie’ to contact her mother without delay. Fortunately, she lived in a nearby town, and though disliking doctors, she did believe in psychics. Millie convinced her Mom to see her physician that very day. Upon examining her, he summoned an ambulance. The ‘psychic diagnosis’ proved entirely accurate; she indeed suffered from cardiomyopathy. Huge amounts of fluid had to be drained from her lungs. The doctor later advised that, had she not received treatment, she might well have died in her sleep that night!
Another less melodramatic event took place over the phone during a reading with ‘Jill,’ whose mother had passed away several years before. Her mom ‘came through’ and eventually inquired about a ring she’d left her daughter. Jill confessed with chagrin that it had been lost. But her mother had other ideas, declaring it not ‘lost’…merely misplaced. Unconvinced, Jill claimed she had searched high and low for it. Her mom advised she look in a certain jewelry box. While still on the phone, Jill went to fetch it, examining it thoroughly, but no ring was to be seen. At that, her mother reminded her about a ‘hidden compartment’. Jill was amazed, for she’d quite forgotten about the hiding place, not even remembering how to open it. With her mother’s instructions, she succeeded; and there was the missing ring! I was as delighted as Jill, who was overjoyed to recover this precious keepsake.
While the consequences of these two sessions were wildly different (one life-saving, the ‘merely’ sentimental), they proved similar to me in one regard. It reminded me that I, personally, could have certainly accomplished neither deed. Rather, I was simply the ‘receiver of information’ that made these happenings possible. At times, I’ve been heaped with praise for my abilities; but instead, I feel my clients are missing the point. Rather, I am more like a ‘telephone’ merely passing on what is revealed to me. My gift is that I can ‘hear’, ‘see’ or ‘feel’ the ‘illumination’, but I am hardly its source! Where, why, and how it comes to me continues to be a marvel and mystery I may never resolve. But the fruits of that gift are delicious indeed!
