West Seattle and Ballard both posted victories in Metro League girls basketball action Wednesday.
The Wildcats outlasted Seattle Prep by a 57-51 score to improve to 10-0 in league play,
while Ballard was dealing Roosevelt a 53-42 defeat.
West Seattle improved to 12-3 overall, with all of the losses coming to out of state teams.
Chief Sealth, meanwhile, took a 52-48 Metro League loss to Lakeside on Wednesday.
Also winning early this week among the area girls teams were Tyee and Seattle Christian.
Tyee made it two wins in a row by defeating Highline by a 39-33 score in a South Puget Sound League 2A battle on Tuesday and Seattle Christian downed Bellevue Christian, 58-51, in 1A Nisqually League action on Monday.
Highline also fell to Orting on Thursday, 56-34, and Foster lost to White River, 58-38, on Tuesday.
In Class 4A North Puget Sound League play Wednesday, Kennedy fell to Hazen by a 52-33 score and Mount Rainier lost to Kentridge, 65-13.
Seattle Lutheran lost, 37-14, to Quilcene in a SeaTac B League game Monday.
The Seattle Lutheran boys, on the other hand, were 69-31 winners over Quilcene that night as Seattle Christian won, 56-44, over Bellevue Christian.
Foster was a 53-43 winner over White River on Tuesday and Kennedy defeated Hazen, 60-58, Wednesday.
Mount Rainier lost, 74-41, to Kentridge on Wednesday as Seattle Lutheran lost, 90-50, to the Muckleshoot Tribal School. Evergreen fell, 57-35, to Washington on Tuesday.
All three area boys teams lost in Metro League play Tuesday.
Lakeside was a 51-42 winner over Chief Sealth and Seattle Prep defeated West Seattle, 63-36. Ballard was edged by Roosevelt, 54-50.
