Cassidy Armstrong of Ballard outlasted the field of runners in the Class 3A girls portion of the state championship cross country meet Saturday.

Armstrong won the title in a time of 16 minutes, 43.4 seconds over the 5,000 meter course set up at the Sun Willows golf course in Pasco.

Teammate Ciana Johnson came in 10th in the same race with an 18:03.7 clocking.

Also coming through with a high state finish at Sun Willows was Frederica Dilley of Chief Sealth.

Dilley took 12th place in the girls 2A competition with an effort of 18:45.0.
