information from King County Metro
Ride2 is a new, on-demand service starting in West Seattle on Dec. 17; it's brought to you by King County Metro, in partnership with the City of Seattle. Within the West Seattle service area, Ride2 will provide on-demand rides to and from the Alaska Junction and Seacrest Park dock. Riders can connect to and from these transit hubs and their home, school, or work.
Why? We understand that your daily commute can be challenging and not everyone has an easy walk to transit service. Try an on-demand ride with Ride2 so you can catch your bus at the Alaska Junction or the Water Taxi at Seacrest Park, and go where you need to with greater peace of mind.
How much does it cost? Standard Metro fares will apply for a one-way ride on Ride2 — meaning, if using an ORCA card, you will pay one fare and transfer to a Metro bus without any additional fare. If you are using an ORCA card and transferring to the Water Taxi, be sure to have cash or an ePurse balance on your ORCA card to pay for the difference in fares.
Reduced fares: All existing King County Metro reduced fare programs, including ORCA Lift, will be accepted when using an ORCA card on Ride2.
This is how it works:
Book a ride on-demand with the Ride2 Transit app or by calling 855-233-1880.
Ride2 in West Seattle is offered in the defined service area only, with the Alaska Junction and Seacrest Park dock as an origin or destination for all trips.
The service is available Monday through Friday, 5-9:30 a.m. and 2:30-7 p.m.
Expect to be picked up 10-15 minutes after your trip request.
Pay upon boarding, with cash (exact change), a transfer, or a regional ORCA card.
Rides will be shared with other Metro customers, while assuring you get to your destination promptly.
Why not do it for all of West Seattle? What are the rest of us going to do?
