Orcas with calves thrill with visit off Alki Beach
Husky Deli owner Jack Miller and family were out in his boat, the well known Baltic Sea on Thursday evening around 7:30. Cruising off Alki Beach.
Jack said, "We saw them at Duwamish Head. Stayed wide and went up by the bottom of Bonair Drive SW then shut down the motor and drifted They came right up to us."
Miller said he saw at least two calves.
They were identified by local Naturalist and Conservationist Kersti Muul as "T37s and T36as" both known as transient pods.
Another example of why it's so amazing to live here.
