Just after 1am, on Jan. 6 according to the King County Sheriff's office, two men were shot in an incident outside the Taradise Bar and restaurant in the 9800 block of 16th SW in White Center. A 51 year old male was shot in the head and torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 35 year old male also had gunshot wounds in his upper body but officers were able to make him stable enough and he was taken to Harborview Medical Center where he was rushed into surgery and was said to be in critical condition.
According to Sgt.Jason Houck speaking for the Sheriff's office, the very few witnesses who remained on scene when Deputies and Major Crimes Detectives arrived are cooperating, but little is known about the suspect or the events that lead up to the shooting.
Detectives believe that the two victims knew each other and that they got into some sort of verbal and physical altercation with an unknown age, race, or build male just prior to the shooting. Their investigation will be ongoing.
Another shooting took place near White Center around 3:30 am but It is unknown at this time if it is related to this shooting. Detectives from KCSO will look into that as part of their investigation.
The Sheriff's office said they do not believe the public is in danger.
The area outside the cafe has been a trouble spot for some time with numerous incidents including the shooting death last May of James Little. A warrant for Billy D. Williams has been issued in that murder.
Taradise should be shut down. There's been numerous shootings there since the place opened and it's obviously become a nuisance.
