Matthew Hazelbrook who was arrested in October on charge of animal cruelty has been formally charged by the King County Prosecutor's office with 17 counts of animal cruelty, a combination of first and second degree counts.

More than 220 animals, many suffering from malnutrition and in terrible conditions were found on his property. Investigators found dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens, mice, and chinchillas in cages outside, inside the house, in a structure in the backyard, and in a building next door. Hazelwood's house was full of cages, according to court documents with animals suffering. Two of them were dead. Th floors were covered in hay, feces, and food. Three skeletons were found in cages in the backyard. In a shed behind the house, officers found two large dog skeletons. Hazelwood told officers he also owned the house next door—where they found about 75 skeletons in varying stages of decay.
Hazelbrook is expected to appear in court on November 25th. His bond, set by the judge on Oct. 16th, is $7,500 bail. The judge has ordered Hazelbrook to not possess, own, transport, or reside with any animals, to not leave Washington state, to keep his address up-to-date with the court, and have no new law violations.

Hazelbrook deliberately abused numerous animals confining them in cages in his houses--2--depriving the of food, water, any interaction...causing deaths, and severe medical conditions/problems...200+ animals and many found outside dead/skeletons per media reports. Seattle Animal Shelter reported that this is the worst/most severe cruelty case in History!!
This case must serve as the landmark for all those w/distorted malicious torture/killing of defenseless, voiceless--next it could be human victims!
