Remembering The Mountain; Beloved Seattle radio station will be celebrated April 10 online

Marty Riemer, longtime West Seattle resident (though now in Berlin, Germany) will be taking part in the 30th Anniversary of The Mountain 103.7 FM a Seattle radio station that reflected some of the best qualities of Pacific Northwest culture and music from it's 1991 debut until a format change in 2013.

The much beloved radio station known as The Mountain (call letters KMTT broadcasting at 103.7) will be celebrated with an online anniversary event on April 10, 2021 from 7pm to 8:30pm. You can take part in the event by signing up at the Remembering the Mountain Facebook page here.

The Mountain was the home of radio personalities John Fisher & Peyton Mays, Fisher & Gary Crow, Crow & Mike West, and Fisher & West. The Marty Riemer & Jodi Brothers show was popular in the morning too.

it featured an Adult Album Alternative format. KMTT, while it was never #1 in Arbitron ratings books, did well with affluent adult demographics.

If you'd like to have a part in the 30th Anniversary Celebration video there are two ways to join in the fun.

  1. Email a message about what The Mountain meant to you or perhaps a special Mountain memory. We may include the message in the video (Either in text or read aloud)

  2. Email a brief video of you in your Mountain swag (or not) with a message about The Mountain and we may include it in the video. We may edit videos for time or artistic reasons.

This news is almost more than my CovidLockedDown self can absorb!
Surely this is a response to my crying into the night for the loss this town endures for the absence of music as played on The Mountain!

I miss the Mountain! It was the best radio show. Nothing had come close. I was a fan from the 1st airing
They introduced me to new music. The Lounge shows were so great. I have every CD and I'm listening to one now!
Can they come back on air? Seattle needs them.

I am not a music radio listener, (mostly sports and news), but I was a steadfast Mountain disciple. The selection of musical artists satisfied my tastes and curiosity into new music. I felt like I was apart of promoting new artists. I fell in love with Carbon Leaf and Decemberists due to the Mountain.I was horrified when it disappeared. Boom! Gone! So sad!

I sure miss the 7:20 funny that Marty used to have on. My kids grew up listening to that & we got into Brian Regan and Jim Gaffigan. The Mountain is still playing, though without DJs, on HD radio. 103.7.2 and it's great

I listened to The Mountain from 2000 - June 2006 when I was called back home for "Family". I was recently telling someone about The "On The Mountain" CD series that was made available to the public and now, was looking to see if any volumes were still available. I haven't seen anything yet. Miss you guys TONS and so sorry to see that you're not on the air any longer.
