Man stabbed to death near White Center; Suspect still at large

Emergency responders attempted to revive a stabbing victim near 17th SW and Cambridge Street SW Friday night.

According to an eye witness, an argument between two black males in the late 20's or early 30's near 17th SW and SW Cambridge Street escalated until one of them stabbed the other. 

The witness a man out walking his dogs on Delridge Way SW saw and heard the argument. "They were fighting and one of them pulled out a five inch blade and stabbed the other one," he said. The suspect fled on foot southbound on Delridge Way SW. The witness said the apartment building nearby is a scene of frequent fights and police activity. 

The victim was found lying on his back by the rocks not apparently breathing.

Emergency responders and Seattle Police arrived quickly and began resusciation efforts, transported him to a gurney and then to a waiting ambulance but it was obvious he had died. 

King County Guardian One helicopter was called into service to seek the suspect but he remains at large.

Seattle Police Detectives are conducting an investigation.

Please be careful walking in the area or crime scene.
I witnessed this morning occupants of two sedans that drove up on a bystander at 17th sw & sw cambridge (alleged scene of stabbing) and threaten family vigilante violence upon him while demanding information about alleged crime from the innocent bystander.
Caution in the area.
Beware of violent angry people looking for retribution from innocent bystanders.

The picture that was initially posted of a face being shown of the victim barely blurred out is disgusting and very disrespectful coming from the West Seattle Herald. No mother, family member or friends would want to see a picture of their loved ones like that and for it to be something that is now viral for the whole world to see as well is blasphemy!! It’s intetesting to noticed that whenever anyone else dies (white people) media blurrs face completely I can’t help but to notice you wouldn’t do it this time because he is colored. Take this down!! Delete the picture!! Do right!

I am writing to address the image on the fb article about the young man, Mike, who was stabbed to death last night in West Seattle. The cover image on the fb article is a full body shot of his lifeless body. That image is one that causes more harm to the already traumatized family and community surrounding this young man. Additionally it adds fuel to the fire of already hyperventilate white supremacy. As a human, a mother and organizer I ask that you please remove that image. Freedom of speach and press is a privilage by which holding the humanity of its source matter should be of the highest integrity. I hope the WSH will do what is ethical by this young man, and his family and community. Thank you and be well.
