Among the items being donated for the silent auction to benefit the White Center businesses damaged in the fire July 5 is this autographed ukelele from Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam.
The fire that swept through seven businesses in White Center on July 5 prompted a remarkable outpouring of support for those businesses with GoFundMe pages getting remarkable support. But of course while those efforts were met with gratitude and saw several businesses announce soon after, plans to reopen, the employees and their families who were put out of work plus the extended White Center community were affected too.
That meant something more needed to be done. Donna Chan at Macadon's and others in the business community put together a White Center Block Party Benefit, set for Sunday August, 29 from 12 noon to 7pm
They are closing the block from 16th SW to the 98th SW and you are invited. The event is FREE and will feature live music on the stage at Drunky Two Shoes BBQ.

The Triangle
Didn’t enjoy being kept awake from the music coming from the roller skating rink on Friday night until midnight, they violated the noise ordinance. It’s a shame that neighbors have to listen to the consonant consonant live music coming from bars and other locations when their homes are located no where near the establishment where the music is coming from some of us go to work extremely early in the morning and are attempting to sleep.
