Early lead fades for National

The offense flowed early for South Highline National in its Little League 10-11 All Stars Tournament opening game versus West Seattle but stopped up after that.
A lead through the first couple innings for National stayed strong until the fourth and fifth, where West Seattle scored two and six runs, respectively, en route to a 8-3 win at Pac West Fields Saturday.
South Highline National opened up a lead in the first inning on a couple walks to Jack McGrath and Tyler Kephart, along with a West Seattle fielding error after that, for a 1-0 lead.
Then, in the top of the second inning for National, they scored again. Simon Adams singled, leading things off, and Tristen Trujillo drew a walk. Then, Parker Stonecifer collected an RBI single, swinging hard but hitting it softly down toward third base, and Adams scored on the play, making it a 2-0 lead. But that was all the scoring the offense mustered as West Seattle battled against National pitcher Jack McGrath, unsuccessfully, until the scoring started in the fourth inning for them.
McGrath shut down West Seattle through three innings, mentioning that he didn't feel like he was tired until a rain squall came through pouring water on everyone for a few minutes when McGrath was on the mound.
"I wasn't until it started raining," he said.
Got a little chilled out there?
"I guess so," he said.
West Seattle rained in runs after that with three singles capped by a 2-RBI single, tying things 2-2 in the bottom of the fourth.
Then, in the bottom of the fifth, West Seattle scored six runs on four hits and two walks and the score was 8-2, West Seattle, when the fifth ended.
In the top of the sixth National rallied some as McGrath shook off some of the wetness on him by hitting an inside-the-park home run in the first at-bat for his team of the inning, making it an 8-3 score. But Preston Quijano drew a walk before a couple ground outs and a hard hit right to West Seattle's pitcher ended the rally try for National.
"It was a well played game by both teams," said McGrath. "After the first two innings, our team stoppd scoring, which hurt us."
