My work is exuberant. I respond to life and nature with a passionate need to depict, interpret and create. When I am at work in my studio, I spend countless hours contemplating a particular form and color in order to feel their energy. Inspiration comes from music, feelings, nature and travels, the stories I am so often told by other people, and my personal experiences.
In the end I hope to have created a piece of art that conveys my visions and emotions. When someone relates to my work and interprets it in a personal way, I feel rewarded. The tactile appearance of many of my paintings is achieved in integral parts through built-up, pooled, scraped, layered, or dribbled paint. Each layer acts as a metaphor for time’s passage, the same way life unfolds.
I have shown nationally and internationally and received many grants and commissions to create temporary and permanent public art. My work is held in numerous private and corporate collections, i.e. France, Germany, Greece, Spain, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, England, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, and throughout the entire USA.
