Girls tennis
2A Singles
Ana Rios of Foster finished sixth in the Class 2A girls singles tournament, losing the match for third place to Luolana Sobrino of Liberty, 6-2, 6-4.
Rios opened the tournament with a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Hunter Wilnovsky of Tumwater before defeating Annell Seaberg of North Kitsap, 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.
Rios then took a 6-3, 6-1 defeat at the hands of Catherine Michelutti of Squalicum in the semifinals to fall into the third place match.
The 2A tournaments took place at Seattle's Nordstrom Tennis Center.
2A Doubles
Stella Fosberg and Chloe Watson of Highline reached state in the 2A girls doubles competition but bowed out in the first round with a 6-1, 6-1 loss to the eventual champions from Sehome.
Boys tennis
2A Doubles
Finn Fosberg and Drew Sagmoen of Highline won their first state 2A doubles match before dropping the next two to miss out on placement.
Fosberg and Sagmoen won their opener, 6-4, 6-4, over Hudson's Bay before losing to two different Liberty teams, 6-4, 6-4, and 6-3, 6-4.
Golf
3A Boys
Kennedy Catholic of Burien captured sixth place as a team in the Class 3A state tournament played at the Qualchan Golf Course in Spokane last week, scoring 40.50 points.
Evan Galardo led the way for the Lancers, finishing in a three-way tie for eighth place individually.
Galardo shot a 74 and a 75 over the two days of action for a total of 149.
Teammate Nick Feighner finished in a four-way tie for 31st place, shooting a 79 and an 81 for a total score of 160.
James Navarro of the Lancers missed out on the second day of action by one stroke, as did West Seattle's Bailey Fuentes and Zach Gibson.
All three shot first day rounds of 81 to miss out on the cut of 80 to reach the second day.
3A Girls
Kennedy Catholic came in 10th on the girls side with a total of 42.00 points on the Indian Canyon course in Spokane.
Alyssa Nguyen of the Lancers tied for 14th place individually with one other player, shooting an 83 and an 85 for a total of 168.
Teammate Makinzie Milton finished in a two-way tie for 25th, shooting an 86 and a 92 for a total score of 178.
Missing out on the second day of action for JFK were Addie Hedge with a 97 and Emily Porter with a round of 110.
2A Boys
Noah Voges of Highline participated in the Class 2A boys state tournament played on the Horn Rapids course in Richland, but did not reach the second day with his first day round of 90.
1A Boys
Seattle Christian's Luke Doss took 13th place in Class 1A boys state action at Liberty Lake in Spokane.
Doss shot a 79 the first day and an 80 the second for a total score of 159.
