PacWest prevailed in a pitching duel, 2-1, Tuesday to wrest away the District 7 age 8-10 all-star Little League baseball title from West Seattle.
The championship pays off in a trip to Poulsbo for state tournament play at Snider Park.
PacWest, of Burien and SeaTac, opens with a 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20 game against the District 6 champion.
PacWest cruised through the District 7 tournament played at Normandy Park with a 4-0 record, including two wins over defending champion West Seattle.
PacWest also met West Seattle in Sunday's winner's bracket final and squeezed out a 5-4 victory to advance to championship play.
West Seattle would have needed to have beaten PacWest twice in championship action to win the title.
