Chief Sealth and West Seattle were both well represented among this past spring's all-Metro League selections.
Sealth scored especially high in the boys soccer selections, where Mori Tsuchiya was named as the Player of the Year for the Sound Division and Ron Johnson as the Coach of the Year.
The Seahawks also landed 12 players on the Sound Division first team and had three honorable mention selections, while the West Seattle team had one Sound Diviision honorable mention pick.
Chief Sealth junior Kristian Nilssen was named as the first team goalkeeper, while junior teammate Xahil McDonald, senior Antonio Garcia and junior Sean Umeda were among the picks at defender.
Included in the first team midfield from the Seahawks were senior Neville Mensur, senior Simon Crean, senior Brandon Rosario and junior Mori Tsuchiya.
First team forwards from Chief Sealth were sophomore Abel Madrigal, senior Aden Fidow and junior Eduardo Cardoza.
Selected from Chief Sealth for honorable mention were Jordan Luna, Logan Smith and Quang Nguyen.
West Seattle was represented among the honorable mention picks by Ryan Fry.
Malia Dewey, a junior, was named to the overall Metro League fastpitch softball first team as a second baseman, and all but two of the Sound Division picks were from Chief Sealth or West Seattle.
West Seattle senior Toni Spadoni was named as the Sound Division's pitcher, while sophomore teammate Sofia Schwartz was selected as the first team catcher and senior Rosie Patnode as the first baseman. Freshman Annalisa Ursino of the Wildcats was honored as a Sound Division first team shortstop and senior Hailey Watkins and freshman Charli Elliott were named as first team outfielders.
Three players were named to the Sound Division first team from Chief Sealth.
Avery Mascarinas made the first team as a junior shortstop and senior Puao Savusa as a third baseman. Chloe Behar made the first team outfield as a junior.
Chief Sealth had four players and West Seattle three for Sound Division softball honorable mention.
The Seahawks selections were Sophie Boyd, Xiu Xiu Bunting, Alana Sullivan and Cara Viloudaki and the picks from the Wildcats were Gloria Alvarado, Julia Bryson and Annalise Herrera.
Baseball went by an overall Metro League format only, with a first and second team selection and honorable mention.
Three Chief Sealth players and two from West Seattle were named to the first team.
Chief Sealth senior C.J. Hicks was picked as an infielder, while senior teammate Kyle Castillo was named as a pitcher and junior Aiden Behar as a catcher.
The West Seattle selections were junior pitcher Sam Hellinger and senior infielder Jeff Freeman.
Hellinger was also named as a second team pitcher.
Three other Wildcats also made the second team in senior outfielder Michael WIckham, sophomore catcher Jimmy Mai and senior designated hitter Tim Tinkler.
Named to the second team from Chief Sealth were sophomore designated hitter Izac Bauer, senior infielder Nic Layton and junior outfielder Maximus Sarver.
Selected for honorable mention from West Seattle were Luke Wiggins, Kyle Herard and T.K. Snow. The Chief Sealth honorable mention selections were Jake Eddy, Lucas Boyd and Blaine Steele.
