The annual "SeaCompression", the post-Burning Man interactive arts festival was held just north of Burien Town Square Oct. 13. SeaCompression is a fest of fire arts, live music, kinetic sculptures, art cars, aerialists, & interpretive dancers, & has been held here & at other area spaces since '02. It is sponsored by Ignition Northwest & produced by nearly 300 volunteers.
Proceeds help fund large scale public art projects, an annual Pratt Fine Art Center scholarship, and other educational projects throughout the year. Thousands gather annually in Nevada's desert to create Black Rock City for Burning Man, dedicated to art, self-expression, and self-reliance.
