West Seattle didn't exactly do things the easy way at the District 7 Junior Little League baseball tournament, but got them done nonetheless.

The Junior age 13-14 Westsiders had lost the winner's bracket final to host PacWest by a 5-3 score on Sunday, July 7 but came back to rout Renton, 16-6, in the loser's bracket final the next day and earn another shot at PacWest.

West Seattle needed to win twice to knock off PacWest, and rallied for an 11-1 win in the first championship played Tuesday, July 9.

The West Siders then won the if-necessary championship game by a 7-6 score on Wednesday, July 10 to take the title.

Now the West Seattle team will advance to the state tournament starting Sunday, July 21 at Medical Lake High School near Spokane.

West Seattle will await the winner of the Saturday, July 20 game between Key Peninsula and District 11.
With a win the team would play again at 10 a.m. Monday, July 22 for a berth into the winner's bracket final to be played at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 24.

Championship action starts at 10 a.m. Friday, July 26 after the 7 p.m. Thursday, July 25 loser's bracket final.
In the if-necessary final of the District 7 tournament this past Wednesday, PacWest took the early lead with one run in the top of the first.

Lucas Hourie drew a leadoff walk and came around as Matt Tourangeau hit into an outfield error and Jacob Bleitz hit an RBI grounder.

West Seattle answered with three runs in the bottom of the first.

Marques Titialii singled with one out and stole second, then Blue James singled him over to third and also stole second. A passed ball scored Titialli and moved James to third.

Grayson O'Neil then walked and stole second and Tim Roach drove in a run on a grounder to the shortstop. Soren Sagmoen singled in O'Neil.
West Seattle tacked on two more in the second for a 5-1 lead.

Elijah Phouangphet singled to spark the rally and Jacob Terao drew a walk.

Titialii hit into an outfield error to bring in two runs, one on the sacrifice fly and the other on the error.
West Seattle continued to control the game until PacWest scored five runs in the top of the seventh and final inning for a 6-5 lead.

Travis Boyd, Xavier Cruz and Hourie all walked to start the inning off before Touraneau also walked to force in a run.

Bleitz then ripped an RBI single and Marcutio Hanmaker walked.

Zach Oldfauner then hit into a fielder's choice before Andrew Gilpatrick ripped an RBI single.
But West Seattle scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to win it.

Terao singled and stole second before Titialii reached base on an error to push Jacob Terao to third before also stealing second.

James singled both in to score the tying and winning run.

Players for the championship West Seattle team include Jacob Terao, Grayson O'Neil, Timothy Roach, Elijah Phouangphet, Andy Chin, Jackson Oehling, Marques Titialii, Preston Burton, Blue James and Soren Sagmoen.

The manager is Mark Terao and the coach is Mark O'Neil.

The players for the second place PacWest team included Jacob Blietz, Zach Oldfather, Jacob Whitman, Andrew Gilpatrick, Casey Clingan. Xavier Cruz, Eli Gray, Marcutio Hanmaker, Adrian Stacy, Travis Boyd, Lucas Hourie and Mathew Tourangeau.
