Foster will be looking for its first win of the young season when it hosts Clover Park for a 7 p.m. non-league game Thursday.
Highline is going to be in the same boat as it hosts White River at 7 p.m. Friday at Highline Memorial. Evergreen goes to Orting at the same time in the same situation.
Mount Rainier is playing its second South Puget Sound League North Division game when it travels to Auburn for 7 p.m. action Friday.
Kennedy will be at home at Highline Memorial at 7 p.m. Saturday and the combined Life Christian/Seattle Christian team goes to Curtis at the same time to play Tacoma Baptist.
Volleyball
Foster is scheduled to visit Decatur High School of Federal Way at 7:15 p.m. Monday and Decatur turns around to go to Mount Rainier for 7 p.m. action Tuesday. The Rams are at home against Holy Names at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
Kennedy goes south to visit Highline for a 7 p.m. match Thursday after the Pirates visit Bremerton at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Also on Thursday, Foster hosts Lindbergh, Tyee travels to Renton and Evergreen to Hazen at 7 p.m.
Girls soccer
Mount Rainier opens its SPSL North girls soccer season Tuesday when it goes to Federal Way Memorial to play Thomas Jefferson at 5:30 p.m. The Rams go to Kentlake at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Highline visits Eastside Catholic for a 5:30 p.m. non-league match Wednesday before hosting Meadowdale at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Tyee goes to Roosevelt at 3:30 p.m. Thursday and Evergreen visits Washington at Franklin Pierce Stadium at 7 p.m. Tyee goes to Washington at 1 p.m. Saturday and Highline makes the trip to Roosevelt at 3 p.m.
Colleges
Football
The University of Washington returns to action after a week off, traveling to Soldier Field in Chicago to play Illinois at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Washington State University hopes to follow up on its stunning 10-7 victory over USC when it hosts Southern Utah at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
The Huskies game will be shown on the Big Ten network and the Cougars game on the Pac-12 network.

Seahawks
Seattle opened with a victory at Carolina this past Sunday and now plays its first home game at 5:30 p.m. Sunday against San Francisco at Century Link field.
The game against the NFC West rivals will be shown on KING Channel 5.
Mariners
Armed with an unusual six-man starting pitching rotation, the Seattle Mariners will take on the Houston Astros in 7:10 p.m. games Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at Safeco Field before visiting the high-flying St. Louis Cardinals at 5:15 p.m. Friday, 4:15 p.m. Saturday and 11:15 a.m. Sunday.
Mariners games can be seen on the ROOT sports cable network.
Sounders
Seattle will be at home at Century Link playing Real Salt Lake in a 7 p.m. soccer match Friday.
NBC Sports will show the action live on KING Channel 5.
Storm
The Seattle Storm battles Minnesota in a 7 p.m. game Tuesday at the Key Arena before going to Tulsa for 5 p.m. action Thursday and coming home to play the same team in its regular season finale at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Live Well network will show the Tuesday and Saturday games.
