After closing her location on Alki Beach Diane Venti has stayed busy with her Alki Arts downtown location at Harbor Steps. Coming up on November 26 through Dec. 26 her business is the location for something unique.
American Express and Delta Airlines are partnering to construct a pop-up retail mall for local small merchants
transforming the 6,000 square-foot Alki Arts Gallery into a small merchant hub. The downtown location is at 55 University Street.
The waterfront space will house nine new merchants each week for four weeks and provide Seattle local businesses with a high traffic marketplace during the critical holiday shopping season. There will be a new theme each week: Home & Design, Fashion & Beauty, The Man Cave and The Perfect Gift.
Merchants confirmed include: Clementine, Ward & Co, Fantagraphics, Andaluz and Le Objects.
This is part of a larger rollout that began in October, with representatives visiting small merchants to inform and excite them about Small Business Saturday and Delta’s brand new SkyBonus offering for Seattle. To further drive Delta’s brand involvement and promote American Express and Shop Small, co-branded street banners are currently hanging in seven Seattle neighborhoods through November. WIPP (Women Impacting Public Policy) acted as the liaison with the City of Seattle.
