Seahawks are advised to watch out for traffic delays during this Saturday's game against the redemption seeking, yet doomed, New Orleans Saints. Don't punt your day away in traffic when you could be part of the audible earthquake ringing in the Saint's ears.

Don't worry about the Seahawk's victory -- it's certain (Betting Top Pot Donuts with Mayor Murray), instead celebrate their pig skin prowess by taking the safest and most efficient routes coming and going from the game.

SEATTLE – All of Seattle seems to be getting ready for the 1:35 p.m. kick-off of the Seattle Seahawks NFL divisional playoff game against the New Orleans Saints Saturday at CenturyLink Field. With 67,000 fans (aka 12th Man) in attendance for the kick-off at 1:35 p.m., the stadium will be rocking - literally - even University of Washington Scientists are said to have their seismometers ready to measure ground movement, and that not even mentioning the noise factor. It will be an exciting game, but motorists will need to plan ahead. There will be no free on-street parking as it is a Saturday and the expected rainy weather could slow traffic down considerably on all major routes leading into and out of the SODO area.

The Seattle Department of Transportation encourages motorists to consider alternate modes of transportation. Metro Transit will provide cash-only shuttles ($4 each way) from the Northgate Transit Center, Eastgate Park & Ride, and South Kirkland Park & Ride, leaving each lot from 11:25 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. After the game, riders will be picked up at Fifth Avenue S and S Weller Street. Sound Transit will also provide Sounder service.

Folks attending the Seattle Opera’s Opening Performances of Rigoletto at McCaw Hall and other events at the Seattle Center this weekend should keep in mind that beginning the morning of Saturday, January 11 at 4 a.m. through Monday, January 13 at 5 a.m., northbound Fifth Avenue N between Republican and Mercer streets will be fully closed to traffic to accommodate work beneath the roadway. During the closure:

• Motorists heading north on Fifth Avenue N will be detoured to Fourth Avenue N and eastbound Mercer Street to reconnect with Fifth Avenue N at Mercer Street. More information about alternate routes may be found at: http://www.seattle.gov/transportation/mercercorridor.htm.
• Police officers will be stationed at Fifth Avenue N and Republican Street, and Fourth Avenue N and Mercer Street to facilitate traffic flow.
• On Saturday, January 11, the left lane of southbound Fifth Avenue N will be restricted between the hours of 4 a.m. and 7 p.m. Left turns from southbound Fifth Avenue N onto eastbound Mercer Street will be permitted.
