Meet Captain Steve Wilske new S.W. Precinct Commander at Crime Prevention meeting Feb. 18

You can meet new Southwest Seattle Precinct Police Captain Steve Wilske who will be on hand to introduce himself and provide updates available on current crime trends in the S.W. precinct.
Also speaking will be C. Kimi Kondo, Presiding Judge, Seattle Municipal Court. Judge Kondo is the Mental Health Judge on the court and she will discuss the Mental Health Court's mission in the court system. Everyone is welcome to attend all of our meetings.
Recruiting officers Andre Sinn and Sonya Fry from SPD will be on hand for the March 18 meeting. They will discuss the hiring and testing practices of the Seattle Police Department.
About Captain Wilske
Captain Wilske has served over 25 years with SPD. He has worked patrol and mounted patrol as an officer and supervisor, and had the opportunity to command a patrol watch in the West precinct from 2000-2004. He was the commander of the the SWAT, Hostage Negotiation Team unit for 5 years, followed by command of the Robbery/Gang Unit.
In late 2009 he became the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigations commander, where he supervised 3 squads of Homicide Detectives and the CSI unit. In 2013, he became a Captain and was assigned to oversee the creation of the new Force Investigations Team (FIT), before his current assignment as the Southwest Precinct Commander.
Captain Wilske has an Associate of Applied Science degree from Highline Community College.
