In keeping with the Seattle Yacht Club’s Opening Day theme “Toys Ahoy,” the membership is supporting Childhaven’s Brighter Birthday Program. Childhaven, a therapeutic child-care center in King County, is providing birthday gift packages for their children with emphasis on toys, books and shoes. Donation boxes can be found at SYC through the Opening Day weekend festivities to May 4, 2014.

Founded in 1909, Childhaven serves babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers who have been abused or neglected, or are at risk. Their mission is to break the cycle of child abuse and neglect by healing its youngest victims with scientifically proven therapeutic care.
