Environmental Science Center announces A Free Workshop On July 27th
Natural Yards: Rain Gardens, Native Plants, and More!
The Environmental Science Center (ESC), WSU Extension Master Gardeners, Village Green Perennial Nursery, and Sustainable Burien with support from King County are sponsoring a FREE workshop for the public. Please join us in the Multipurpose Room at the Burien Library (400 SW 152nd Street, Burien, WA 98166) on Sunday, July 27, 2014 from 2:00pm – 4:00pm.
Learn how to create a beautiful addition to your yard while also keeping the Puget Sound watershed healthy. Bev Morrow, Rain Garden Educator, Master Gardner, and Native Plant Steward will discuss how rain gardens lessen the impact we have on our watershed, in addition to providing practical advice on how to install and maintain your own. Vera Johnson, owner of Village Green Perennial Nursery, will be on hand to answer questions about organic gardening, edible landscapes, and more!
Light refreshments will be served. Registered participants will receive a packet of online resources and a chance to win a gift certificate to Village Green Perennial Nursery!
