Pac West drops first two games

VANCOUVER--District 7/Pac West dropped its first two games coming out of the gate at the Junior Little League Western Regional all-star age 13-14 baseball tournament being played at Kindsfather Field.
The Burien-based team was shut out by the Arizona state champion Nogalas National team by a 10-0 score in a 9 a.m. Thursday game after opening with a 12-2 defeat at the hands of the Southern California champions from Manhattan/Hermosa Beach on Tuesday afternoon.
Pac West came in as the Washington champions after winning the state tournament, which was also played in Vancouver.
Pac West has two games left in round-robin play at the Western Regional.
The squad will take on the Nevada state champion Centennial Little League team from Sparks at 3 p.m. Friday before facing the host East County Little League team from Washougal at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Semifinal play follows for the top four seeds out of round-robin action at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday. The third-place consolation games takes place at 1 p.m. Tuesday with the one-game championship at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Kindsfather Field is located at 1812 Fort Vancouver Way in Vancouver.
At stake is a berth into the Junior Little League World Series to be played Aug. 9-16 in Taylor, Mich.
