Saints, Lions to play for third

SPOKANE--Similar losses left Seattle Lutheran of West Seattle and Shorewood Christian of White Center to play each other in the third place game of the state Class 1B boys basketball tournament.
Seattle Lutheran suffered a 66-47 loss at the hands of Lummi Nation in one state semifinal Friday night, before Shorewood Christian lost the other to Neah Bay, 67-44.
All four teams came out of the same Tri-District tournament on their way to state.
Seattle Lutheran will now meet Sea-Tac B League neighbor Shorewood Christian at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Spokane Arena to battle for third and fifth place in the state.
Lummi Nation and Neah Bay play at 5 p.m. for first and second and the fourth-sixth game features Pomeroy and Cusick at 9:30 a.m.

Seattle Lutheran had opened the state final eight Thursday with a 58-36 win over Cusick and Shorewood Christian downed Curlew, 75-61.
