Seattle Lutheran Saints finish in third place in State

SPOKANE--Xavier Turner threw in 31 points as the Seattle Lutheran boys basketball team secured a third-place state Class 1B finish with a 61-53 win over Shorewood Christian on Saturday afternoon.
It was the fifth meeting of the year between the two Sea-Tac B League rivals, with the Saints winning four of the five.
Seattle Lutheran hails from West Seattle while Shorewood Christian is from White Center.
Turner also hauled down seven rebounds in the action at the Spokane Arena and racked up three assists.
Josh Meyer was next for the Saints with seven points and five rebounds.
Shorewood Christian had a more balanced attack.
JJ Young led the Lions with 19 points as Jovi Fevaleaki finished with 15 and Spencer Howell hit 12.
Young also led with eight rebounds and four steals.
Fevaleaki had six rebounds, Howell five rebounds and Stan Domingo five points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals.
Shorewood Christian came away with the fifth-place trophy.
Lummi Nation won the 1B championship by a 54-33 score over Neah Bay.
In the game for fourth and sixth Pomeroy defeated Cusick, 58-50.
