Seamount softball stars announced

Kennedy Catholic junior shortstop Maggie Gallagher was named as the Seamount League Athlete of the Year for girls fastpitch softball this spring, also landing the spot at that position on the first team along with junior Eirra Suarez of Lindbergh.
Foster High School, meanwhile, took home the league's Team Sportsmanship award and Jennifer Thompson of Renton was named as the Coach of the Year.
Highline senior Nicole Jacobson was selected as the first team pitcher and freshman teammate Sienna Herrera took the first base position.
Honored along with Gallagher from Kennedy were sophomore Samanth Isernio of Kennedy at second base, senior Nicole Miller in the outfield and sophomore Elise Turpen as a utilty player.
The first team catcher position went to Lindbergh senior Ana Meneses and the third base position to senior Isabel Teppner of Hazen, while other outfielders with Miller were Lindbergh senior Chelsey Guhlke and Renton junior Mia Hernandez. Hazen senior Hannah Loucks joined Turpen as a first team utility player.
Three players each made the second team from Kennedy and Highline.
Lisa Conrath of Kennedy, a sophomore, was named as a second team pitcher along with Hazen junior Monica Cleary. Junior teammate Emily Porter landed the third base position and junior Delaney Knox an outfield position.
Honored from Highline on the second team were senior second baseman Madison Kelly, freshman shortstop Graciana Mecklenburg and junior outfielder Jennifer Hovland.
Evergreen second team selections were freshman catcher Emily Nikula and senior first baseman Maria Martinez.
Tyee sophomore Isabel Garcia-Arambula earned the lone second team utility position.
Others named to the Seamount second team were Renton senior shortstop Alina Tarng and Hazen sophomore outfielder Tessa DeBartolo.
Five Evergreen players were included on the honorable mention list in junior pitcher Keikilani Waiau, junior second baseman Crystal Bailey, senior third baseman J'Vonne Hendricks, sophomore shorstop Kaleigha Lang and junior outfielder Ece Inci.
Earning honorable mention from Tyee were sophomore outfielder Gladis Aguilar-Lopez, senior utility player Mehrisey Harland and junior utility player Shenna Love-Delos Santos.
Junior first baseman Haley Beebe made honorable mention from Kennedy along with senior outfielder Jordan Cossette.
Other honorable mention picks were Renton junior pitcher Qionjanae Green, sophomore catcher Alyssa Gummere of Hazen, sophomore shortstop Olivia Chapman of Hazen, senior outfielder Norlene Tejada of Renton and senior utility player Isabella Duran of Lindbergh.
