Youth sports
Little League
West Seattle opens state Little League Major (age 11-12) all-star baseball action Saturday, taking on the District 8 champion at the Northshore Athletic Fields in Woodinville at 2 p.m.
The winner plays again at 2 p.m. Sunday and the loser plays again at 5 p.m. Sunday.
Swimming
The "B" championships for the Southern Division of the Seattle Summer Swim League are scheduled for 4 p.m. Thursday at the Kent pool.
Girls "A" preliminary action then takes place at 4 p.m. Monday at the Gregory Seahurst pool in Burien with the boys prelims scheduled for he same time Tuesday at Lakeridige in Renton.
Semiprofessional
Highline's Bears are at home at Steve Cox Memorial Park in White Center playing the Seattle Studs at 7 p.m. Friday and the Northwest Honkers at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The Bears then finish out their season on the road.
Highline visits the Honkers for 5:30 p.m. games in Fall City on Monday and Tuesday.
Pro sports
Mariners
Seattle is in Detroit for 4:08 p.m. action Wednesday and for a 10:08 game Thursday.
The Mariners then come home to Safeco Field to play the Toronto Blue Jays at 7:10 p.m. Friday, 1:10 p.m. Saturday and 1:10 p.m. Sunday.
The Arizona Diamondbacks then invade for 7:10 p.m. games Monday and Tuesday.
.Mariners action can be seen on the Prime Sports Northwest cable television and heard on 710 AM radio.
Sounders
Seattle is in Montreal playing the Impact at 5 p.m. Saturday.
Rainiers
Tacoma is at home in Cheney Stadium taking on Salt Lake City at 7:05 p.m. Wednesday and Thusday before Fresno comes to town at 7:05 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The Rainiers entertain the Grizzlies again at 1:35 p.m. Sunday and 1:35 a.m. Monday before going on the road to El Paso for 6:05 p.m. action Tuesday.
Rainiers games are carried on 850 AM and the MiLB network.
Reign
The Seattle Reign women's soccer team visits Portland for a 7 p.m. game Wednesday before turning around to host the same team at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Moda Pitch at Seattle Memorial Stadium.
Emerald Downs
The Auburn horse racing oval opens at 6:45 p.m. Friday and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
