Center Mathew Barzal, left wing Ryan Gropp, head coach Steve Konowalchuk and team mascot Cool Bird of the Seattle Thunderbirds hockey team will take part in a Ceremonial First Pitch prior to the Seattle Mariners game on Wednesday, August 12, at 12:40pm at Safeco Field.

The Mariners are honoring the T-Birds and their fans for having five players selected in the 2015 NHL Draft in late June.

Barzal was selected with the 16th overall pick by the New York Islanders. Gropp was selected in the second round, 41st overall, by the New York Rangers. Keegan Kolesar was taken in the third round, 69th overall, by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Ethan Bear was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fifth round, 124th overall. Gustav Olhaver, the T-Birds first round selection in the 2015 Import Draft, was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the seventh round, 191st overall.

The Mariners play the Baltimore Orioles in the final game of a three-game series on Wednesday, August 12, at 12:40pm at Safeco Field.

The T-Birds have secured a ticket special from the Mariners for their fans that want to attend the game to see the first pitch ceremony. Fans can purchase $48 Main Level tickets for $27 using the promo code "TBIRDS" when purchasing tickets. The promo code is not case sensitive. Fans that purchase tickets will all be seated in the same section at Safeco Field and are encouraged to wear T-Birds gear to the game.

The deadline to purchase tickets to see the T-Birds throw out the ceremonial first pitch is Tuesday, August 11, at 5pm.

The T-Birds open the 2015-16 season in Vancouver against the Giants on Friday, September 25, at 7:30pm at Pacific Coliseum.

The T-Birds' home opener for the 2015-16 season is Saturday, October 3, against the Prince George Cougars at 7:05pm at ShoWare Center in Kent.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2015-16 season will go on sale Wednesday, August 26, at 10am. Fans will be able to purchase single game tickets online or at the ShoWare Center box office.
