High schools
Boys basketball
West Seattle will host Thomas Jefferson for a 6:30 p.m. game Wednesday, then Kennedy will host its own Christmas Classic tournament starting at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The tournament continues Monday and Tuesday, when Seattle Christian will be playing at a tournament in Port Townsend.
Seattle Lutheran will see tournament action at Northwest on Tuesday and Wednesday as West Seattle plays in the MountlakeTerrace tournament.
Shorewood Christian pays a 6 p.m. visit to Lummi Nation Tuesday.
Girls basketball
Mount Rainier will see action Wednesday, hosting Auburn for a 7 p.m. game.
Kennedy Catholic is putting on its Christmas Classic tournament Monday and Tuesday, with Tyee opening tournament action at the Meridian Holiday Tournament starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday and continuing Wednesday.
Highline hosts Interlake at 7 p.m. Tuesday and West Seattle visits Olympic at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Wrestling
Highline will be competing at Hanford along with Sunnyside starting at 9:30 a.m. Monday.
Pros
Seahawks
With a wild card berth in hand and the NFC West title out of reach, Seattle will be playing for the No. 1 wild card berth the final two weeks of the season.
The Seahawks will host the St. Louis Rams for a 1:25 p.m. game at CenturyLink Field on Sunday that can be seen on Channel 13 and heard on 710 AM.
Thunderbirds
Seattle visits Spokane for 5:05 p.m. Western Hockey League action Sunday before turning around to host the Chiefs at 7:05 p.m. Tuesday at the Showare Center in Kent.
Stars
The Tacoma Stars are off until Sunday, Jan. 3.
Colleges
Husky football
The University of Washington football team plays Southern Miss in the Heart of Dallas Bowl starting at 11:20 a.m. Saturday.
ESPN cable will televise the action live.
Cougar football
Washington State University is playing at almost the same time -- 11 a.m. Saturday -- in the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas against the Miami Hurricanes.
Channel 7 will show the game live.
Husky men
Washington hosts UC Santa Barbara for an 8 p.m. men's basketball game Monday that can be seen on the Pac-12 cable network.
Husky-Cougar women
Washington will be paying an 8 p.m. visit to Washington State University in Pullman on Tuesday that will also be carried on the Pac-12 network.
Redhawks men
Seattle University will entertain UC Davis at 7 p.m. Monday.
Redhawks women
Seattle University drops in on Oregon for 6 p.m. action Monday.
Bulldogs men
Gonzaga entertains Loyola Marymount at 6 p.m. Wednesday in a game to be shown on ROOT Sports cable television.
Bulldogs women
Gonzaga visits Loyola Marymount at 1 p..m. Wednesday.
