High schools
Baseball
Kennedy Catholic will journey to Heidelberg Park in Tacoma (next to Cheney Stadium) to play North Thurston in a 7 p.m. loser-out game Wednesday. The winner plays again at 10 a.m. Saturday at the same location.
Highline, meanwhile, will go to Franklin Pierce High School in Parkland to take on Olympic in a loser-out game at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. A win would mean a return trip to Franklin Pierce for the Pirates at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Tyee meets Sammamish at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, also in a loser-out game. The winner plays at 1 p.m. Saturday at Franklin Pierce.
Fastpitch softball
Foster visits Highline for a 3:30 p.m. game Wednesday as Evergreen entertains Renton, Kennedy goes to Hazen and Tyee to Lindbergh.
Chief Sealth will play Ingraham in a 3 p.m. Thursday Metro League playoff at the Southeast Athletic Complex with the winner playing again at 7 p.m.
Highline gets a 3:30 p.m. non-league visit from Seattle Christian that day as Evergreen travels to Forest Ridge.
The Metro League playoffs conclude Friday, with West Seattle assured of being involved in seeding action. The championship is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Southwest Athletic Complex, with other seeding games there at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Another one will be at 4 p.m. at the Southeast Athletic Complex near Rainier Beach.
The regular Seamount League season ends Friday, with Evergreen at Kennedy, Hazen at Tyee, Foster at Renton and Highline at Lindbergh.
Seattle Christian then visits Kennedy for a 3:30 p.m. non-league game Tuesday.
Boys soccer
Chief Sealth or Ballard will play a 5:30 p.m. Metro League playoff Wednesday at the Southeast Athletic Complex.
Seamount League playoffs are scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Thursday, with Evergreen playing the South Puget Sound League No. 3 team at Franklin Pierce and Foster taking on Sequim at Bonney Lake.
Both games are loser-out. If Evergreen wins it plays at 12 p.m. Saturday at Franklin Pierce and if Foster wins it play at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Franklin Pierce.
State playoffs open next Tuesday at sites to be determined.
Girls tennis
The Seamount League tournament runs Wednesday through Saturday at various times and sites.
Track and field
Mount Rainier will be involved in the South Puget Sound League meet that takes place Wednesday and Friday starting at 3 p.m. at French Field in Kent.
The Seamount League sub-district meets are Wednesday (3A), Thursday (2A) and Friday (3A and 2A) at Sunset Chevrolet Stadium in Sumner. Start times are to be announced.
Pros
Sounders
Seattle plays a 6 p.m. game at Dallas on Saturday that can be seen on Channel 13.
Mariners
Seattle takes on Tampa Bay at 12:40 p.m. Wednesday at Safeco Field before hosting the Los Angeles Angels on the same diamond at 7:10 p.m. Friday, 6:10 p.m. Saturday and 1:10 p.m. Sunday.
The Mariners visit the Baltimore Orioles at 4:05 p.m. Tuesday.
All of the games can be seen on ROOT Sports Northwest cable television.
Rainiers
Tacoma is in Fresno for 12:05 p.m. action Wednesday before playing 7:05 p.m. games there Thursday and Friday.
The Rainiers come home to Cheney Stadium to take on Omaha at 5:05 p.m. Saturday, 1:35 p.m. Sunday, 6:05 p.m. Monday and 11:35 a.m. Tuesday.
Storm
Seattle opens its regular women's basketball season with a 2 p.m. game Sunday at Los Angeles.
Reign
Seattle plays host to Portland at 7 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
Thunderbirds
Seattle continues its Western Hockey League championship series against the Brandon Wheat Kings on Wednesday with a 7:05 p.m. match at the Showare Center in Kent.
If necessary, more action takes place at the same site at 7:35 p.m. Friday.
The series would then return to Brandon for 5 p.m. action Sunday and Monday.
Emerald Downs
The Auburn track is open for 6:30 p.m. horse racing Friday and for 2 p.m. action Saturday and Sunday.
